There is some light creasing to the back cover, but there are no reading creases to the spine, just a slight reading curve. ![]() The covers have some light wear and marks commensurate with age and handling, but are very clean, with none of the usual browning that is often found. ***A very good copy in illustrated card covers. The MGM film 'Village of the Damned' which was based on the novel was released in 1960. The front cover drawing by Paul Hogarth shows one of the 'cuckoos' with their distinctive yellow eyes passing a group of villagers. Originally published in hardback in the UK in 1957 by Michael Joseph, and first published as a paperback in 1960 by Penguin Books.
